In the early part of my career, I helped build the high tech corporate finance lending business for the world’s largest Japanese bank growing the loan assets in our San Francisco office from zero to $1 billion in 5 years. After a stint in private banking and wealth management in Dubai and Singapore, I joined Omega Performance, a niche training consultancy, as a business development manager, growing the company’s presence and adoption by banks’ relationship and credit managers of Omega’s training methodology in Indonesia and upon over-achieving my sales target in my territory and winning APAC Salesperson of the Year, was promoted to Managing Director of APAC, where I was responsible for managing/mentoring a regional team of BDM’s and a $5 million P&L business.
The success at Omega led to my being actively recruited to join the training arm of Moody’s Analytics which eventually acquired Omega. After several years at Moody’s, and having worked primarily at large organisations for most of my career, and being intrigued by several colleagues and venture capitalists who founded and funded interesting tech start-ups in Singapore, I decided to venture into entrepreneurship by forming my own training consultancy to lend my expertise by helping salespeople and technopreneurs in enhancing their relationship-building and business development skills that are necessary in closing complex sales opportunities.
